In this creation, devised with the help of Nasser Djemaï, dancer and choreographer Bouba Landrille Tchouda looks back at his life and the highlights of his apprenticeship.
Born in Cameroon, Bouba Landrille Tchouda was seven years old when he moved in with his aunt and uncle in Grenoble in 1985. The pain of feeling abandoned by his parents who had stayed behind in Africa, and the difficulties of being cut off from his native country, were gradually replaced by recognition of those who had trained and supported him: entertainers, educators, teachers… Now a dancer and choreographer, Bouba Landrille Tchouda looks back on his journey in j’ai pas toujours dansé comme ça. More than a show, this creation is a sensitive portrait punctuated by a series of powerful moments and glimpses into his past, with a deep desire to share his experiences and show how, through them, his dance never ceases to be nourished by his many stories and encounters.
