Bouba Landrille Tchouda is an associate artist at the Rive Gauche, a dance centre in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, Normandy.
During this association, he presented Miracles, Des air(e)s d’ange and the solo J’ai pas toujours dansé comme ça as part of a decentralised tour.
A number of cultural initiatives have also been devised for a variety of audiences: practical workshops with secondary school pupils (Fontenelle secondary school in Rouen, Pablo-Picasso secondary school in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, Louise Michel secondary school, Vallée du Cailly secondary school), mediation around the shows with young people in social and professional reintegration, (Association Stéphanaise de Prévention Individuelle et Collective) masterclasses with dance enthusiasts (Association Sportive Rouen Université Club de Mont-Saint-Aignan) and awareness-raising workshops with prisoners as part of the ‘Culture-justice’ programme (Bonne nouvelle detention centre in Rouen).
One of the projects developed at Rive Gauche, Les Gens d’à côté, involved the choreographer and his assistant Lyli Gauthier for a year. This participatory creation is the fruit of an experimental process of creation with amateurs. It involved a group of 13 young people, teenagers from Saint Etienne, working on the issue of violence and its repercussions. The play was presented at the Juliobona theatre in Lillebonne and at the Rive Gauche.
The aim was to stimulate a certain outlook, a critical and constructive attitude, while mobilising the creativity of each of the participants. With the help of a video artist, it questions our relationship with others and invites us to go and meet these people next door, citizens of the present and the future’.
