ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL EDUCATION (EAC)

DANCING TO SAY AND SHARE…

A world, an approach

The question of transmission is an essential dimension in the work of the Malka company. In addition to creating and presenting his own work, Bouba Landrille Tchouda designs and implements artistic and cultural education initiatives aimed at a wide range of audiences: schoolchildren, university students, people with disabilities and prison inmates, as well as amateur dancers in conservatoires, dance schools and professional training courses. In all these places, he offers a dialogue around choreographic research, attentive to all forms and to the question of meaning in dance.

The choreographer is constantly working to establish a direct relationship between the artistic team and the local population, relying above all on interpersonal relationships and encounters. He seeks to build bridges between amateur and professional practice, through performances, public rehearsals, workshops, etc.

Practising dance

For Bouba Landrille Tchouda, dance means expressing yourself in flesh and blood, looking at and expressing the world through your body, making a part of yourself visible, putting your life in motion, sharing your questions with energy, maintaining an intimate dialogue between mind and movement, bringing together emotion and intelligence.

His choreographic interventions and workshops are conceived in two stages. Firstly, he starts with the fundamentals of dance (weight, time, space, movement dynamics) and works with the participants on the technical foundations that will give them a better understanding of hip hop dance and, more specifically, its artistic universe. In the second stage, the teacher will try to put these technical foundations into movement, inviting participants to mobilise their ‘poetic’ body, the body that expresses itself, in the service of a shared purpose.

Together, we will propose and explore ways of working that involve the involvement, commitment and creativity of young and old alike.
